What Buyers Love
Compact and lightweight
Small size fits perfectly on compact cameras like Ricoh GR III, easy to carry and handle.
Powerful output
Despite its size, delivers strong light even at lowest power setting, as noted by multiple users.
Good battery life
Built-in 470mAh battery lasts sufficiently for extended shooting sessions, with USB-C charging convenience.
Wide compatibility
Works with Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, Olympus, and other single-contact hotshoe cameras.
Easy manual control
Five adjustable power levels allow creative manual flash control, appreciated by enthusiasts.
What Could Be Better
Risk of used units
Two reviews mention receiving customer-rejected or returned products, raising quality control concerns.
Limited power levels
Only five flash power settings may not suffice for advanced users needing finer adjustments.
No wireless capability
Lacks remote triggering or TTL support, limiting its use in multi-flash setups.
Slow sync speed
Maximum flash sync speed of 1/200s restricts high-speed photography applications.
Battery spec confusion
Specs list both built-in battery and CR5 requirement, causing potential misunderstanding about power source.
The AI Verdict
The Godox iM20 is a solid choice for compact camera users seeking a portable flash with decent power and battery life. However, buyers should verify product condition upon delivery due to reports of used units. It's best for casual and hobbyist photographers, not for professional demanding high-speed sync or wireless control.
